2000 Years of Christ's Power. Volume 1. The Era of the Early Church Fathers
Author: Nick NeedhamCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsEach generation tends to consider itself more enlightened than those who came before it. Certainly, the Church has made mistakes throughout its history—and yet none of the understanding we have today would have been possible without the efforts and even some mistakes of our ancestors. The first volume of 2000 Years of the Power of Christ covers the period from the first century AD to the early Middle Ages. From the writings of St. Augustine of Hippo to the first apologetics in history, this historical period laid the foundations for what we now study as Church history.

Annunciation
Author: Mack StylesCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsEvery few years, churches get involved in a new kind of evangelistic activities. Leaders develop a program, and church members jump into battle. And imagine a church where the gospel has entered the general culture. Pastors talk about their faith openly and constantly. Church members follow their example, encouraging each other to consider the gospel as an inseparable part of life.
This is the gospel that this short and exciting book is talking about. No programs and ideas for evangelization - rather a new look at how the church will learn to live and evangelize together.
"This book about the gospel glorifies Christ, it is imbued with the evangelical spirit - a book unlike any other. It does not offer methods of personal preaching, but encourages us to proclaim the unheard, unprecedented news about Jesus to everyone, the whole church, and everyone to reap the fruits of the gospel." — Richard Chin, director of the Australian Evangelical Student Society, secretary of the International Evangelical Student Society for the South Pacific region.

Brothers, we are not professionals
Author: John PiperCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsWe, pastors, are being killed by the professionalization of pastoral ministry. The thinking of a professional is not the thinking of a prophet. This is not the mindset of Christ's servant. Professionalism has nothing to do with the essence of Christian ministry. The more we strive to become professionals, the more spiritual death we leave behind. After all, it is actually impossible to professionally be like children (Mt. 18:3), professionally be compassionate (Eph. 4:32), professionally thirst for God (Ps. 41:2).
Brothers, we are not professionals! We are outcasts. We are strangers and sojourners on earth (1 Pet. 2:11). Our residence is in heaven, from where we await the Lord (Phil. 3:20). Impossible professionally. will love His appearance, he did not kill this love at the same time, but they continue to kill it.
The world dictates its agenda to professionals; the plans of a spiritual person are confirmed by God. The strong wine of Jesus Christ breaks the skins of professionalism - John Piper

The Lord's plan for the church
Author: John MacArthurCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsIt is essential that the local church see itself as an instrument for God’s glory, and to do so, John MacArthur argues, it must unwaveringly adhere to biblical principles of leadership. Christ never said that leadership in the church could be earned through domination, bought with money, or inherited. He never likened church leaders to reigning kings, but rather to humble shepherds; not to self-important celebrities, but to devoted servants.
Drawing on the best materials on the subject of church leadership, this updated edition will help modern churches gain important and effective leadership lessons based on New Testament teachings. This book is relevant not only for pastors and elders, but also for anyone who wants their local church to be as God intended it to be.Read moreForeword to the Ukrainian edition

Instruments of Grace in the Hands of the Redeemer
Author: Paul TrippCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsEach of us has faced a situation at least once when we did not know how to react, what to do, or what to say. Perhaps we have considered turning to a professional to solve all our problems. But God has called each of us to sanctification and service. In his work, “Instruments of Grace in the Hands of the Redeemer,” Paul Tripp writes about how to draw wisdom from the Bible and share it with others.
This book is a practical guide to change that speaks truthfully and openly about human sins that we so skillfully mask under a mass of righteousness.
Paul Tripp says this about his work: “This book is about the most joyful news that a person can receive. This news has nothing to do with fantasies and dreams, but is based on objective reality and historical facts… This book is about how imperfect but striving people are helped to grow in Christ by imperfect but striving people.”

Leadership
Author: Paul TrippCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsThe Church is in a Leadership Crisis. What can we do to keep pastors from leaving their ministry?
While every famous pastor who leaves his ministry is in the spotlight, there are countless lesser-known pastors whose departures remain in the shadows. Pastor and bestselling author Paul David Tripp argues that behind every pastoral failure lies the lack of a strong leadership community. Tripp draws on his decades of ministry experience to offer churches twelve gospel principles they need to overcome this leadership crisis. Each of these principles, based on qualities such as humility, trustworthiness, and accountability, will allow both new and experienced leaders to focus on the gospel as the perfect model for leadership.
Read morePreface
Introduction. Crisis
1. Achievements
PRINCIPLE 1: A ministry community that spends most of its time on the business side of church life is usually spiritually unhealthy.
2. Gospel
PRINCIPLE 2: To become instruments of God’s grace, your leaders must be committed to nurturing it in each other’s lives.
3. Limitations
PRINCIPLE 3: Proper leadership of a ministry community requires recognizing God-given limits on gifts, time, strength, and maturity.
4. Harmony
PRINCIPLE 4: An important component of your leaders’ success is the ability to recognize and harmoniously combine diverse callings in their lives.
5. Character
PRINCIPLE 5: A spiritually healthy leadership community recognizes that personal moral qualities are more important than organizational structure or strategy.
6. War
PRINCIPLE 6: It is important to understand that leading any evangelistic ministry is primarily a spiritual struggle.
7. Servants
PRINCIPLE 7: The call to leadership in the church is a call to a life of sacrifice and service.
8. Openness
PRINCIPLE 8: A spiritually healthy leadership community is characterized by humble openness and courageous sincerity, inspired by love.
9. Identity
PRINCIPLE 9: How your leaders lead the church is always determined by their own sense of identity.
10. Recovery
PRINCIPLE 10: If a leadership community is formed according to gospel principles, its inherent characteristic will be a willingness to correct mistakes and start over.
11. Sustainability
PRINCIPLE 11: The sustainability of church leaders’ ministry is always a consequence of their belonging to the gospel community.
12. Presence
PRINCIPLE 12: The inevitable weaknesses, failures, and sins of your leaders can only be dealt with if they are viewed through the lens of the presence, power, promises, and grace of Christ.

Leadership
Author: Paul TrippCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsOn every page, Tripp urges us to return to the unblemished biblical view of leadership in the church, which is exactly what we need in the midst of the battle that rages around us - the battle for our joy, for our endurance, for our lives, for our families and for the people we serve - so that in the end all the glory goes to God and not to us.

Любий Тимофiю
Read moreПро авторів

Our Father
Author: Kevin DeYoungCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsYes, we should pray. It is a command found in the Bible, and more than that, it is a non-negotiable prescription. But if we want to move from a state of “I should pray more” to a state of “I can pray,” we must think about prayer in the right way. And at the heart of this right way is the understanding that our God is not deaf or hard of heart.
Talk to Him.
Be honest with Him.

The shepherd is the leader
Author: Timothy WhitmerCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsThe main idea of this book is simple: "The main responsibility of church leaders is to shepherd God's flock." After all, the very word "pastor" comes from the Latin word meaning "shepherd". But, as you will see, shepherding is the responsibility not only of those who are called to be pastors, but also of those who are called to be presbyters or carry other similar services in our churches. You will make sure that pastoralism constitutes the very essence of the biblical concept of leadership. Unfortunately, in many churches this is not given due importance.
Church leaders are called to be pastors, not governing councils. The main vocation of every church leader is to be the shepherd of the community. Pastoral service includes four tasks - to know, to ask, to guide and protect church members at the macro level (at the level of the entire community) and at the micro level (in personal care). To cope with these tasks, Timothy Z. Whitmer offers a plan of ministry from seven essential elements. It is the totality of all components that will help church leaders achieve success in pastoral service to their communities.
The book is intended, firstly, to convince you that the concept of pastoring includes everything that a church leader should do, and secondly, to help those who want to start (or improve) pastoral ministry among their parishioners. And although I am a professor of theology and teach in a seminary, this book is not a scientific work. However, I hope that it will be useful to everyone who studies (and teaches) in seminaries. I teach practical theology , and I was prompted to write this book by concern for pastoral care. I hope that my humble work will help you apply the principles of biblical shepherding in your ministry.
Moving from chapter to chapter, we will first consider the biblical and historical foundations, and then the practice of shepherding. I hope that in the first section I will be able to convince you that shepherding should be your constant concern, and in the following sections we will talk about how to plan and organize pastoral ministry. The main place in the section devoted to pastoral practice is occupied by seven principles of successful pastoral ministry. You must apply them all, you cannot choose only those that you like, otherwise you will not be able to successfully carry out your plan of pastoral ministry. And, finally, in the final chapters, we will talk about the important consequences that can be expected where pastoral ministry is consistently performed, and about some practical aspects of this ministry.
I pray to God that your flock will not be like "sheep without a shepherd." Let it be said about you, as about the shepherd king David: "And he shepherded them in the purity of his heart and led them with wise hands" (Ps. 77:72).
