Yes, we should pray. It is a command found in the Bible, and more than that, it is a non-negotiable prescription. But if we want to move from a state of “I should pray more” to a state of “I can pray,” we must think about prayer in the right way. And at the heart of this right way is the understanding that our God is not deaf or hard of heart.

You don’t have to impress Him. He is your Heavenly Father, and therefore He already loves you. You just have to come and talk to Him. That’s good news. And the even better news is that when we come to prayer, our Heavenly Father will be waiting for us with joy, ready to hear us!
