However, in 1908, at the age of 22, he heard from one of his father's patients a verse from the proverbs of Solomon: "There are paths that seem straight to a person; but the end of their path is death" (Prov. 14:12), forced him to leave Theosophy and become a Christian. Commentary on the Gospel of John

This commentary is primarily intended for those who have the honor and responsibility of serving the Word of God to other people - to preach and conduct Bible study groups. I included in the book the information that ministers would need, while I tried to present it in such a way that an educated parishioner could also use this book, studying the Bible on his own for his own spiritual edification and growth" - From Donald Carson's preface to "Commentary on the Gospel of John"

Author: Joseph HallCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsYour attention is offered to the first volume of the outstanding work of the famous puritan of the 16th century, bishop of Novichi Joseph Hall (1574-1656). Events and people of ancient times come to life on the pages of this book.
To read Joseph Hall means to reflect on passages from the Bible together with an outstanding pastor, to empathize, grieve and rejoice together with him. This book is surprisingly contemporary, but there is nothing surprising in this, because biblical truths are not subject to the influence of time.

Interpretations of Solomon's Proverbs
CategoryDescriptionContentDetailsOur behavior must correspond to our inner content. Let us constantly exercise in piety, as this book calls us to do, because we have every reason to do so. The inner light penetrates outside. Private life is necessarily reflected in everyday life. Piety will order our concessions, help us build the right priorities. A pious life brings bliss. Solomon often repeated this thought.
It is extremely important that people, especially young people, know that godliness brings joy. The world believes that piety suffers, and does not enjoy it. But one can say for sure: holiness is joy. Holiness is the only state of the soul that can be called happiness.
