Jay Edward Adams (1929–2020) is an American theologian, pastor and one of the founders of the biblical counseling movement.

For a long time he served as pastor at Harrison Bridge Church (Simpsonville, South Carolina). Founder of the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (Levrock, Pennsylvania). He taught "Homiletics" and "Soul Care and Pastoral Service" at the Westminster Theological Seminary.
