Dedicated to God. A guide to the biblical doctrine of holiness
Author: Sinclair B. FergusonCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsChristians change when their thinking changes. How we understand the Gospel largely determines how we live for God. We allow the Word of God to do its work, and then it, shaping our mind, shapes our way of life.
Sinclair Ferguson consistently develops this idea from the first to the last chapter, drawing ideas directly from Scripture. He himself calls his book "a guide to the biblical teaching on holiness", that is, this book is a systematic explanation of the key passages of the New Testament on sanctification.
The book "Consecrated to God" provides a solid and reliable basis for a practical Christian life. It examines such important ideas as the union with Christ, the rhythm of spiritual growth, spiritual warfare, and the role of God's law.
Before us are non-trivial reflections on the most pressing issue. And also a source of ideas to which Christians can turn every time they have a desire to better understand the Scriptures and correct their spiritual course.

Celebrating discipline
Author: Richard J. FosterCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsRichard Foster's "Celebrating Discipline" is a true spiritual guide that has been inspiring readers around the world for over forty years to discover a deeper and richer life in faith. The 40th anniversary edition is revised and expanded, and translated for the first time for the Ukrainian reader. The author explores the classic disciplines of the Christian life and shows from his own experience that these practices help to find the true path to spiritual growth.
Foster divides spiritual practices into three areas: internal disciplines (meditation, prayer, fasting, and study) help us delve deeper into ourselves and understand the world around us; external disciplines (simplicity, solitude, humility, and service) teach us to be in wholeness with others, to live without manipulation, to be truly present with people, and to become a blessing to them; general disciplines (confession, worship, guidance, and celebration) open the door to union with God and communion.
note. The author skillfully shows how these practices can be integrated into daily life, and teaches that spiritual discipline is not a burden, but a path to joy and freedom. "Celebrating Discipline" will become a valuable compass for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of God and peace in today's world.

Systematic theology
Author: Louis BerkhofCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetails"If we define theology as a systematized knowledge of God, from whom everything originates, to whom everything stands and to whom everything is directed, then it is necessary to begin precisely with the teaching of God. Not only should we not be surprised that dogmatics begins with the study of God, but, on the contrary, we should expect that all sections of systematic theology will be devoted to the study of God in one way or another. After all, theology as a whole is conceived as the teaching of God, only in its first part God is the direct object of study, and in others He is studied indirectly." Louis Berkhof, from the chapter "The Existence of God"
"This book is a storehouse of information and theological thought; moreover, it is probably the best one-volume theology textbook among all theological traditions. I myself rely heavily on Berkhof's research on the immutability of God and the personality of the Holy Spirit." Wayne Grudem
"Berkhof can become our friend and mentor. He helped many of his contemporaries not to fall into heresy, igniting people's hearts and tearing them out of the routine of Christian life." Jeff Thomas
"The Systematic Theology of Berkhof has been a classic textbook in many Reformed seminaries for many years." Robert Raymond
"This book is still the best introduction to Reformed theology ever written in English." Richard Muller

The essence of modern theology
Author: Edward FisherCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsThe book "The Essence of Modern Theology" was written in the 1600s by an author about whom we know almost nothing. However, it turned out to be a critically important, albeit controversial, theological work. This book is written in the form of a dialogue between a priest (Evangelist), a young Christian (Neophyte), a lawyer (Nomist), who believes that Christianity is a set of rules that must be followed, and an Antinomist who believes that it is possible to sin because God will still forgive him. The book turned out to be surprisingly insightful and remains extremely relevant today. This edition includes explanatory notes by the famous Puritan Thomas Boston, an introduction by Philip Raiken, and a historical introduction by William Vandodewaard.

APPENDIX. The reason for the dispute about "Essence"
Questions agreed by the commission of the General Assembly
Question 1. Are there any commandments in the Gospel that were not actually given before the Gospel was revealed?
Question 2. Isn't the believer now obliged by the authority of the Creator to show personal obedience to the moral law, although not for justification?
Question 3. Is the commandment, in which we find the promise of life and the threat of death, a covenant of deeds?
Question 4. Was the threat of hell added to the moral law before it took the form of the covenant of deeds?
Question 5. Only believers are free from the commanding power of the law as a covenant?
Question 6. Does the sinner receive all that is necessary for salvation at once upon justification?
Question 7. Does preaching about the need for a holy life to find eternal happiness threaten dangerous consequences for the doctrine of the gift of grace?
Question 8. Is the knowledge, faith, and conviction that Christ died for me, that He is my Savior, and that all His deeds and sufferings were done for me, a direct act of faith?
Question 9. What is the act of faith by means of which the sinner accepts Christ and His saving benefits?
Question 10. Is it possible to say that the revelation of God's will in the Word, which gives the basis for offering Christ to everyone and commands everyone to accept Him, is the gift of Christ offered by the Father to all mankind? Is this gift to all mankind realized through sovereign grace, and what is it - absolute or conditional?
Question 11. Is a similar division of the law, which is explained and applied in the "Essences" and which cannot be rejected without burying several evangelical truths, justified?
Question 12. Should hope for heaven and fear of hell be excluded from the motives of a believer's obedience? If not, how can the "Essence" be defended, which clearly excludes them, but allows for other motives?

You are a theologian.
Author: Robert Charles SproulCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsMany people react negatively to the word theology, believing that it is about dry and fruitless disputes over minor doctrinal issues. They say that it is better to focus on the basic truths of the Holy Scriptures. Sometimes you can even hear that the creeds are unnecessary - it is enough to have Christ.
But, as Dr. Sproul argues, each of us is a theologian. Every time we think about and try to understand biblical doctrine, we are practicing theology. Therefore, it is essential to systematize the doctrines of Scripture, using proper, time-tested methods of interpretation, in order to make theology consistent and true.
In You Are a Theologian: An Introduction to Systematic Theology, Dr. Sproul does just that. Far from being a dry discussion of minor doctrinal issues, Sproul once again demonstrates his ability to skillfully explain complex issues by examining the basic truths of the Christian faith, reminding us of who God is and what He has done for people in this world and the world to come.

The Cross of Christ
Author: John StottCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsA life's work by one of the world's most influential thinkers on the essence of the Christian faith. With compelling honesty, John Stott shows our generation the centrality of the cross in God's redemption of the world. In the cross, Stott finds a revelation of God's greatness and love, an exposure of the world's sin and slavery. This book is more than a study of redemption; it brings Scripture into lively dialogue with Christian theology and modernity. From this emerges a model for Christian life and worship, hope and mission.

Alien fire
Author: John MacArthurCategoryDescriptionContentAuthorDetailsIn Strange Fire, bestselling author and pastor John MacArthur describes the complex history behind the modern charismatic movement. What would God say about those who blatantly distort the vision of the Holy Spirit, exchange genuine worship for chaotic bouts of mindless ecstasy, replace the biblical gospel with vain illusions of health and wealth, claim to prophesy in His name, and sell false hope to desperate people for millions of dollars? The author exposes heretical trends within the modern charismatic movement, advocating for rejecting false prophets, showing genuine reverence for the Holy Spirit, and upholding the content of the Bible as the inerrant, authoritative Word of God and the only true standard by which all claims of truth should be tested.
