The Bible is a collection of sixty-six books inspired by God. They are collected in two testaments: Old (39 books) and New (27 books). Prophets, priests, kings and leaders of the Israeli people wrote the books of the Old Testament in Hebrew (including two parts in Aramaic). The apostles and their disciples wrote the books of the New Testament in Greek. The chronicle of the Old Testament begins with the creation of the universe and ends approximately 400 years before the First Coming of Jesus Christ.

The Synodal translation of the texts of the Holy Scriptures, corrected edition, is used in the Study Bible.
